Dry bulk specialist Scorpio Bulkers has entered into a time charter-out agreement for one Kamsarmax vessel with an undisclosed client.

The company has chartered out the 2016-built SBI Zumba for a period of minimum five months to a maximum of seven months at a daily rate of USD 10,500.

The earliest re-delivery of the 82,000 dwt vessel is set for May 11 2017, the company said.

SBI Zumba joined the company’s fleet in October 2016 together with one Ultramax, SBI Apollo.

SBI Zumba was built and delivered by Chengxi Shipyard, while SBI Apollo was built and delivered by Japan’s Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding.

Scorpio Bulkers currently owns 42 vessels, consisting of 16 Kamsarmaxes and 26 Ultramaxes. The company also time charters-in two dry bulk vessels, consisting of one Panamax and one Kamsarmax vessel, and has contracted for six dry bulk vessels, consisting of four Kamsarmaxes and two Ultramaxes, from shipyards in China.

Upon final delivery of all of the vessels the company’s owned fleet is expected to have a total carrying capacity of approximately 3.4 million deadweight tonnes.
