Singapore-based container shipping company APL plans to launch three new weekly services and revise its Latin America services network.

The three new services are Japan Straits Express (JSX), Japan Express (JPX) and China Southeast Asia Service 5 (CS5).

The JSX service will link the Kanto and Kansai regions of Japan with transshipment hubs of Singapore and Port Klang in Malaysia. The service will call the ports of Yokohama, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Singapore and Port Klang.

The first sailing of the JSX service will commence from Yokohama on April 17, 2017.

In addition, the JPX service will connect Japan with the United States West Coast. Scheduled to start from Kobe on April 5, the new JPX service will call the ports of Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, Sendai, Los Angeles and Oakland.

The third service, the CS5 service, will link North and Central China, Korea, and Taiwan to Manila in the Philippines.

Introduced to enhance the company’s network coverage between the Northeast and Southeast Asia trades, the new CS5 service’s coverage of North and Central China complements APL’s Japan Taiwan 6 (JT6) service that serves the South China-Manila trade network.

The new CS5 service will include the ports of Xingang, Qingdao, Busan (Pusan New-Port International Terminal and Hutchison Busan Container Terminal), Shanghai, Kaohsiung, and North and South Manila. The first sailing is expected to begin from Xingang on April 9.

Furthermore, in response to “seasonal demand changes” in the Asia-Latin America market, the company revealed plans to adjust its three services – Asia Latin American Express (ALX), Asia South America Service (ASA) and Mexico Asia Express (MAX).

Connecting Asia with the ports of South America West Coast, the ALX service will adjust its port rotation to the following:

Keelung – Hong Kong – Yantian – Xiamen – Ningbo – Yangshan – Busan – Manzanillo, MX – Callao – Iquique – Puerto Angamos – Valparaiso – Keelung.

The first sailing of the adjusted ALX service will start from Keelung on March 25.

Additionally, as a weekly direct service from South and Central China and from main Asia hubs to ports in Mexico, Colombia and West Coast South America, APL’s ASA service will expand its port coverage of the Latin America markets with the following port rotation:

Yangshan – Xiamen – Shekou – Hong Kong – Kaohsiung – Busan – Manzanillo, MX – Lazaro Cardenas – Balboa – Buenaventura – Callao – San Antonio – Coronel – Lirquen – Puerto Angamos – Callao – Lazaro Cardenas – Manzanillo, MX – Busan.

The first sailing of the revised ASA service is scheduled to commence from Yangshan on March 27.

Finally, APL’s MAX service, which connects Central and North China, Korea and Japan to ports in Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador, will broaden its Latin America port coverage with the following port rotation:

Qingdao – Ningbo – Yangshan – Busan – Yokohama – Ensenada – Manzanillo, MX – Lazaro Cardenas – Balboa – Buenaventura – Guayaquil – Balboa – Lazaro Cardenas – Manzanillo, MX – Ensenada – Yokohama – Busan .

The first sailing of the modified service will start from Qingdao on March 24.
