Rotterdam remains the largest port in Europe. In 2016 our total throughput was over twice that of Antwerp, the number 2 port. And while we don’t see volume as an end in itself – nowadays, we’re mainly interested in being the ‘best’ and the ‘smartest’ port – it’s still important that ships know their way to Rotterdam. These are the different cargo types handled at our quays.
