Specifically, the German shipowner confirmed that it has sold the 2008-built containership EF Emira (1,710 TEU), with delivery to the new owner expected in the third quarter of 2026.

Ernst Russ stated that both parties have agreed not to disclose the specific price. The transaction forms an integral part of the long-term fleet strategy, underscoring the company's ambition for sustainable growth in selected market segments. Furthermore, Ernst Russ is explicitly executing a diversification strategy, having recently ordered two multipurpose vessels and four chemical tankers.

Ernst Russ Raises Full-Year 2026 Guidance

Concurrently, Ernst Russ has raised its full-year 2026 earnings guidance, now expecting EBIT for the year to fall between EUR 45 million and EUR 55 million (previously EUR 34 million to EUR 44 million). Revenue expectations remain unchanged, between EUR 145 million and EUR 160 million.

Joseph Schuchmann, Co-CEO and Chief Commercial Officer of Ernst Russ, stated: "The raised full-year guidance reflects a strong operational start to 2026 and a strategically well-timed vessel sale. Both factors jointly enhance the earnings outlook. This sale embodies the strategic discipline of Ernst Russ's fleet development, encompassing both the active management of existing investments and the targeted acquisition of newbuildings."

Ernst Russ currently controls a fleet of 27 vessels with a total slot capacity of 55,987 TEU, and holds an additional six newbuilding orders. Meanwhile, ElbFeeder, the joint venture between Eimskip and Ernst Russ, has ordered two new 2,280 TEU containerships at Nanjing Jinling, scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2028.
