China Merchants Shipping took delivery of the 82,000 deadweight tonnage Kamsarmax bulk carrier "Ming Qi" during a ceremony held in Yizheng, Jiangsu Province, on March 10th. The event marked both the ship naming and the official handover.

Huang Maosheng, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Shipping, officiated as the ship's namer. The prestigious task of cutting the line was performed by Ms. Cai Bugu, an internationally renowned artist, educator, and council member of the China Artists Association.

Deputy General Manager Huang formally named the vessel "PACIFIC FELICITY," with the Chinese name "Ming Qi." He extended his best wishes for the new ship, expressing hopes for safe voyages, smooth sailing, and prosperous returns.

The "Ming Qi" is the third vessel in a series of four Kamsarmax dry bulk carriers contracted between China Merchants Shipping and China Merchants Shipbuilding. Its successful delivery signifies tangible progress in China Merchants Shipping's commitment to optimizing its fleet structure and advancing green and intelligent development principles.

As a next-generation, green, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly vessel, the "Ming Qi" incorporates several optimized design features, resulting in substantially improved energy efficiency. Once operational, the ship is expected to significantly enhance China Merchants Shipping's service capabilities and competitiveness in the international shipping market.

Representatives from key partner organizations, including the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), China Merchants Insurance, China Merchants Shipbuilding, and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), were present at the ceremony.
