on April 4th, Zhoushan Changhong International held a naming ceremony for the CHB5005, the lead ship of the 50,000 DWT chemical/oil tanker series built for the Greek company Horizon Tankers. The vessel completed sea trials on March 31st. This naming ceremony marks a successful initial phase of cooperation between the two parties and an important milestone.

In his speech, Shen Zhihua, General Manager of Dinghai Shipbuilding at Zhoushan Changhong International, stated that the CHB5005 is the first cooperative project between Changhong International and Horizon Tankers, representing a significant beginning for their joint journey. Looking back on the entire construction process, every stage embodies the wisdom and hard work of all participants. The successful construction and naming of this vessel not only signify the initial victory and a major milestone in their cooperation but have also accumulated valuable experience and instilled greater confidence for subsequent construction work.

In his speech, Michael Karras, Deputy General Manager of Horizon Tankers, noted that this vessel, jointly designed and built by all parties and constructed under the supervision of Lloyd's Register, will possess the highest quality and standards, enabling it to excel in today's highly competitive market.

Rafaella Karras served as the godmother of the vessel, officially naming the new ship "Horizon Emmanuel" and performing the traditional "rope-cutting" ceremony.

The vessel has an overall length of approximately 182.95 meters, a molded breadth of 32.2 meters, and a molded depth of 19.1 meters. It is classed with Lloyd's Register and is planned for formal delivery to the shipowner in mid-April. This vessel is the 5th MR-type chemical/oil tanker built by Changhong International and is the first ship in a series totaling six vessels.
