As the world's largest independent containership owner, Seaspan commands an outstanding industry reputation and possesses deep collaborative experience with numerous leading shipyards globally. This partnership represents both a significant endorsement of SUMEC's comprehensive capabilities and construction standards, as well as a strategic decision by both parties aligned with prevailing industry trends.

The contracted vessel design features a flexible and highly efficient gantry-crane configuration, complemented by a box-shaped cargo hold structure that offers exceptional versatility in cargo stowage. SUMEC Marine will collaborate with premier design institutes and crane manufacturers to develop this vessel, thereby filling a nearly three-decade gap in the domestic construction of this specialized ship type within China.

This collaboration holds profound significance for SUMEC Marine, marking a pivotal step in transcending the limitations of conventional vessel designs and expanding into high-value-added tonnage. The project will not only facilitate the accumulation of invaluable technical expertise and enhance overall technological capabilities, but will also further optimize the company's business structure and diversify its vessel product portfolio. It is expected to drive a dual elevation of the SUMEC Marine brand's stature and operational quality, reinforcing the position of Chinese manufacturing as the steadfast preferred choice for premier global shipowners, and laying a solid foundation for sustained, high-quality development.
