China tightens port inspections to curb Ebola

2014-09-09

All Chinese ports of entry will implement stricter quarantine measures to combat Ebola, said the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC).

People, vehicles, goods and mail from infected areas will be thoroughly inspected, according to the statement, and anything suspected to be infected with Ebola will be isolated, while infected corpses will be cremated.

Overseas students from infected regions should take a 21-day medical observation under the administration of their universities. There are currently still no cases of Ebola reported in China.
