Sinopec’s 1st LNG terminal ready for pilot run

The first LNG terminal built by China’s Sinopec Corp is about to wind up and is ready for its pilot run. Then the total number of China’s LNG terminal will reach to 11.

Sinopec’s source said that Qingdao LNG terminal will start to unload for the first cargo vessel by the end of this year.

With 3 million tons of the annual receiving capacity, this LNG terminal is not only the first LNG terminal of Sinopec, but also an important part in China’s LNG import chain. It will create favorable conditions for the import of 7.5 million tons LNG from Australian AP LNG project every year.

So far, there are two leading developers for LNG import terminals in China, namely CNOOC and CNPC.
