CNPC Signs an Agreement with China Changjiang National Shipping

CNPC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Changjiang National Shipping (Group) Corporation in Wuhan on February 8. Both sides are dedicated to the promotion and application of natural gas in waterway transport and expansion of cooperation so as to realize the win-win development. The agreement marked their cooperation has entered a new stage.

The Vice President of PetrolChina Li Xinhua, Sinotrans Group Vice President and CSC General Manager Zhu Ning held a conference on their cooperation and addressed the signing ceremony. PetroChina Vice President Li Hualin and CSC Deputy General Manager Shen Guanghan signed the agreement.

Li Xinhua said that, for a long time, PetroChina and CSC maintained good cooperative relations, especially in promoting gas to replace oil in ship power recently. Natural gas, as a low-carbon, clean, convenient energy, has l lower emission and greater economic benefits. The signing of the agreement is beneficial for the two sides to further strengthen cooperation and play their respective advantages in resources and markets. Their cooperation will make new contribution to national energy security, fulfillment of corporate social responsibility and the modern green waterway transport system.

Zhu Ning pointed out that it is of great importance for reducing the consumption of energy resources, the development of low-carbon economy, cutting emission of pollutants, constructing a resource-saving and environment-friendly industry to promote low-carbon natural gas as fuel. Strategic cooperation between the two sides will take the application of gas in the Yangtze River as the starting point. They will be dedicated to the promotion and application of natural gas and other clean energy in the shipping industry, and definitely will contribute to national energy service support system and logistics system as well as the energy saving and green development of China\'s shipping industry.

CSC mainly operates business such as shipping, ship building and repairing, fuel trade and so on. It is the only enterprise in China that can provide a full-range of logistics service in the Yangtze River, coastal areas and oceans. The two sides will accelerate the construction liquefied natural gas filling station along the Yangtze River. They will give full play to the advantages of Jinan Diesel Engine Power Plant in gas engine R & D and manufacturing, and vigorously promote the use of natural gas in the operation and the new ships.

Personnel in charge from Changjiang MSA, Wuhan Branch of CCS as well as Wuhan government also attended the ceremony.
