Clarkson new ship price composite index was 139,138 and 136 points in December 2011, January 2012 and February respectively, but fortunately, deceleration is not too fast.  In this February, the prices of Capesize, Panamax and Handymax bulk carriers were US$ 47,000,000, US$ 27,500,000 and US$ 25,500,000 respectively, all of which were lower than the previous month. In the same month, the prices of VLCC, Suez, Aframax, and new Panamax tanker were US$97,500,000, US$ 59,000,000, US$ 51,500,000 and US$ 42,500,000, declined slightly when compared to the three ships mentioned before. The quote of the container ships also dropped. It is noteworthy that the prices of new ships have almost reached the bottom.
