Throughput of ports in Fujian Province will reach 400 million tons in 2012 and the throughput of containers will reach 1050 TEU.

According to statistics, cargo throughput in the province has reached 193 million tons in the first half of the year, increase by 8.5% from the same month last year, with the container throughput of 487.11 TEU, up by 10.3%.

Among variety of cargos, mineral building material for coastal ports in Fujian has reached 41.2875 million tons, increased by 21.7% than the same period last year with iron ore of 10.7131 tons, up by 47.5%. Due to strong rainfall, thermal coal demand remained low, leading to reduction of input and output of provincial coal. The coal throughput reached 33.1712 million tons, just up by 1.8%.

Going forward, the construction of Xiamen Southeast Shipping Center is speeding up, which will be effective to promote the cargo throughput and container throughput at ports in Fujian Province.
