Chongqing's seven-month containerised trade cargo increases 30pc

SOUTHWESTERN China's emerging IT product manufacturing base Chongqing recorded a robust year-on-year increase of 29 per cent in its import and export laden container volume to 182,000 TEU during the period from January to July, Xinhua reports.

In the seven months, Chongqing's international cargo volume increased 12.5 per cent to 4.71 million tonnes. Waterway imports and exports grew 11.5 per cent to 4.63 million tonnes. Ground transport trade cargo volume rocketed 140.3 per cent to 36,000 tonnes. International air freight soared 91 per cent to 51,500 tonnes.
