Korea supports Offshore entry

2013-03-29

Korea Marine University (KMU) has decided to support an advance of Busan’s marine equipment makers into offshore plant business.

KMU’s LINC (Leaders in Industry-university Cooperation) held a foundation ceremony of ‘Supporting project for training incumbents in offshore plant equipment industry and encouraging vendor registration’ on March 27 at Commodore Hotel in Busan and the operation will start from this April.

The project is to provide a foundation for Busan-based marine equipment manufacturers to enter offshore plant business and to improve technical skills and marketing ability of existing offshore plant companies, conducted by KMU’s LINC and supported by Busan Metropolitan City.

LINC is to offer a support for marine equipment companies which hope to enter offshore plant sector through training incumbents and encouraging them to register in a list of shipowner or oil major vendors (supplier).

At the same time, it has built an all-time network with 280 companies to effectively conduct the project and 200 companies among them are said to be developing offshore plant related equipment and materials.
