CHEC Wins Bids for Three Projects

Recently, China Communications Construction Group (CHEC) has won the bids for Stage 1 of Phase 3 of the container terminal project in Cologne, Panama, the terminal construction and repair project in San Vicente, Chile, and the watercourse flood mitigation project in St. Marks, Grenada, with a total contract value of some 140 million US dollars. Chile and Grenada are CHEC’s newly-developed markets.

Located at Cologne Port, Cologne Province, Panama, Stage 1 of Phase 3 of the container terminal project in Cologne, Panama involves three parts: construction and dredging of Terminal 4, construction of Q container yard and reinforced concrete pavement, and construction of K and M container yards, with a contract value of 60 million US dollars and a construction period of 23 months.

The terminal construction and repair project in San Vicente, Chile involves construction of a 264-meter-long and 38-meter-wide high-pile terminal, extension of the existing terminal, repair of the pile foundation of the existing terminal and grave pile driving construction, with a contract value of some 70 million US dollars and a construction period of 48 months.

The watercourse flood mitigation project in St. Marks, Grenada involves watercourse dredging, slope protection and reconstruction, flood mitigation structure construction and waterfront road subgrade repair, with a contract value of some 5 million US dollars and a construction period of 12 months.
