Zhejiang Taizhou launches new five-year port logistics development plan

EASTERN China's Taizhou city in Zhejiang province has publicised its port logistics system development plan for the 12th Five-year Plan period from 2011 to 2015, reports Xinhua.

According to the plan, Taizhou will focus on the construction of two comprehensive logistics parks, three professional logistics centres and two distribution centres.

The two logistics parks are Taizhou port's Toumen Port Area Logistics Park and Damaiyu Port Area Logistics Park, where a 20,000 to 30,000-tonne terminal and a passenger and freight ro-ro terminal for direct service to Taiwan will be built respectively.

The three logistics centres include Taizhou Bay Circulation Industry Logistics Centre, Haimen Port Area Logistics Centre and Huangyan Port Area Logistics Centre in Taizhou port.

The two distribution centres will include the building of a 115,000-square metre Longmen Logistics Centre with two 3,000-tonne capacity berths in the city's Wenling port area and a 102,000-square metre Jiantiao Port Area Logistics Centre with a 5,000-tonne freight berth.
