Dong Wenbiao, president of China Minsheng Banking, announced that it had planned to order 5,000 deep-sea fishing vessels over the next three years with CNY 100bn investment (equivalent to around $16.4bn) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture of China.

Mr. Dong said that Minsheng Bank would advance into agriculture field and proceed with a project to arrange a network of finance industry for seafood since seafood market bears relatively high added value.

He continued that the project for seafood industrial network provision, planned to be jointly conducted with the agriculture ministry, would bring somewhat clear effects of management service.
