China's November social logistics value up 9.4pc

THE latest released figures by the China Federation of Logistics Purchasing (CFLP) show, from January to November, China's social logistics value, which means the collective value of all logistics operations in the country, increased 9.4 per cent year on year to CNY182.2 trillion (US$30.05 trillion) after removing price factors, Xinhua reports.

Industrial products' logistics value increased 9.7 per cent to CNY167.3 trillion. Import cargo logistics went up 5.9 per cent to CNY11 trillion. The Singles' Day online shopping spree on November 11 brought a 29 per cent surge to the consumer goods logistics value. The logistics value of recycled goods and agricultural product respectively climbed 20.6 per cent and 3.4 per cent.

Social logistics cost, the total cost of all logistics operation in China, grew 9.3 per cent to CNY8.7 trillion. Transportation cost increased 9.2 per cent to CNY4.4 trillion. The growth was 0.3 percentage point faster than in the period from January to October.

Road transport cost grew 9.9 per cent, which was 0.4 percentage point faster growth in the first 10 months. Railway transport cost increased 14.4 per cent. The growth was 1.2 percentage points slower than in the first 10 months. Waterway transport cost declined by 0.4 per cent, 2.2 percentage points slower than in the first 10 months.

Logistics service price index was at 51.4 per cent in November, up 0.1 percentage point than October. China's coastal bulk freight index was at 1,441.9 points, up 10.3 per cent from October.
