Shanghai: As yachting becomes increasingly popular in China’s financial metropolis, a new law is coming into place to give yachts a stretch of the Huangpu river all to themselves for a small part of the day.

Starting next year, cargo vessels will be banned from between the Lupu Bridge and Nanpu Bridge from 1900-2100 on six days each month when the tide is at its highest.
