Chinese container ship Tao Yan sank following a collision with another container ship Gang Tai Tai Zhou on August 25 some 10 nautical miles off Tianjin port, the Bohai Sea, China.

Gang Tai Tai Zhou is reported to have suffered minor damages to its bow.

Nearby vessels managed to rescue 22 members of the containership’s crew. No injuries have been reported.

Gang Tai Tai Zhou pursued to Tianjin port on its own power, where it docked.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
