G6 Alliance shakes up transpacific services for summer

The G6 Alliance has pulled two of its Asia-US West Coast services, with APL continuing one service independently, under changes implemented as part of the group's Asia- North America summer programme.

From May APL will operate its CC3 service independently using US-flagged vessels with a rotation of Qingdao – Shanghai – Pusan – Yokohama – Los Angeles – Oakland – Yokohama – Pusan – Qingdao. The SE1 service is also being withdrawn from the G6, but will be suspended as the summer services are in operation.

The Alliance's CC1 service has added a call at Qingdao from 17 May, and the PA2 service has been adjusted to focus on connecting Japan and Korea with North America.

The CC1 rotation will be Qingdao – Shanghai – Kwangyang – Pusan – Los Angeles – Oakland – Pusan – Kwangyang – Qingdao.

The PA2 rotation from 26 May will be Tokyo – Kobe – Pusan – Balboa – Panama Canal – Manzanillo(Panama) – Miami – Jacksonville – Savannah – Charleston – New York – Norfolk – Manzanillo(Panama) – Panama Canal – Balboa – Los Angeles –

Oakland – Tokyo.

CC2 will return 17 May calling Ningbo – Shanghai – Los Angeles / Long Beach – Ningbo. The NYE service will return 31 May calling Kaohsiung – Ningbo – Shanghai (Yangshan) – Pusan – Panama Canal – Manzanillo (Panama) – Savannah – New York – Norfolk – Jacksonville - Manzanillo (Panama) – Panama Canal – Balboa – Pusan – Kaohsiung and SCE returns unchanged on 26 May Xiamen – Kaohsiung – Da Chan Bay – Hong Kong – Yantian – Panama Canal - Manzanillo (Panama) – Kingston – Savannah – Charleston – Kingston - Manzanillo (Panama) – Panama Canal – Xiamen.
