Samudera Indonesia has won a $70m contract for supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) to a power plant operated by state-owned gold miner Aneka Tambang in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi, local reports said.

The company will assign one of its 50 ships to serve the plant, managing director Bani Mulia was quoted as saying. "Our target is to start supplying [the LNG] next year," he said.

Samudera is also bidding to take part in Pertamina's floating storage regasification project, which could bring in $200m per unit over the next 20 years.

The company is buying up to six ships this year, including tankers and containerships.
