China's domestic price of primary aluminum averaged Yuan 11,560/mt ($1,821/mt) over October 1-10, down 2.1% from Yuan 11,803.5/mt over September 21-30, the National Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday.
NBS conducts a survey on domestic prices across nine categories of essential feedstocks three times a month.
Aluminum falls under the category of nonferrous metals. This category also includes copper, lead and zinc ingot.
The average price of copper was Yuan 39,553.5/mt over October 1-10, up 0.9% from the previous period; lead was up 1.1% at Yuan 13,467.50/mt; and zinc was 1.8% higher at Yuan 14,177/mt.
The other eight categories are ferrous metals, petrochemicals, oil and natural gas, coal, non-metal construction materials, agricultural products, agricultural feedstock and forestry products.
The data is gathered from 24 major provinces and cities: Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu and Xinjiang.
