German owner Nordic Hamburg has signed shipbuilding contracts with Nantong-based Huatai Heavy Industry for the construction of four 1,400teu dual-fuel containerships.

The vessels will be classified by ABS and are scheduled for delivery at the end of 2017.

Huatai Heavy Industry completed a restructuring and changed ownership in August 2014. It is currently engaged in businesses of shipbuilding and offshore steel structures.
