Ming Wah offloads elderly handymax

Ming Wah, a Hong Kong bulker subsidiary of China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES), has just offloaded the 49,000 dwt Pacific Dolphin for $3.3m, according to brokers.

The ship is the last of a veteran handymax sextet aged around 20-years-old laid out for sale earlier this year. All six were built at Japan’s Oshima Shipbuilding. Combined with a series of newbuilds delivering this year and next, Ming Wah’s average age of its fleet has dropped dramatically this year.
