Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited’s subsidiary in Thailand has been awarded a subsea remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services contract in the Gulf of Thailand from a major upstream oil and gas firm.

The contract for Mermaid Subsea Services (Thailand) Ltd, valued at approximately $10m, is for a two-year term start from March 2016 with a one-year extension option.

The work will utilise the DP2 ROV support vessel Mermaid Sapphire along with a deepwater work-class ROV plus associated equipment and specialist personnel.

The scope of work includes structure and sea line inspection, free span correction, and corrosion prevention, according to Mermaid Maritime.

Earlier, Mermaid Subsea Services in Qatar clinched a $10m contract to provide additional subsea cable installation and related diving services work for an existing customer.
