Singapore maritime firms show continued support for Posidonia

Singapore maritime companies are being showcased at Posidonia 2016 at the 175 sq m Singapore Pavilion at Hall 2 2.401 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens.

The contingent is being led by the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI), along with the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF).

The Singapore Pavilion features seven Singapore-registered companies with a diverse range of capabilities. These include major yards Keppel Offshore and Marine and Sembcorp Marine as well as Singapore-headquartered shipyard group Paxocean Engineering, which is eyeing the retrofits and conversions market from Greek shipowners at the show with its multiple facilities in Singapore, China and Indonesia.

Other companies exhibiting under the Singapore umbrella are equipment suppliers Teho Water & Envirotec, LFA Global, Net Vision SEA and Marshall Cavendish Business Information.

Keppel Offshore and Marine marine & technology md Michael Chia said Posidonia is an important show for the group and even though the market is not good at the moment, it is important to maintain the presence.

Sembcorp Marine corporate communications head David Wong said: "Posidonia is a key event for us."
