2017-01-03

The 1995-built car carrier Glovis Corona has suffered a 15 degree list due to a cargo shift while it was sailing in inclement weather in the North Sea, German media reports indicate.

At the time of the incident, which took place off the coast of Wangerooge island on December 26, the 21,421 dwt vessel was on its way from the German port of Hamburg to Gothenburg, Sweden, from where it was scheduled to sail to the Middle East.

According to AIS data provided by MarineTraffic, the RoRo is still at anchor in the Neue Weser Anchorage off Bremenhaven, where it arrived on December 27.

World Maritime News contacted relevant authorities for an update on the incident, however, they are yet to reply.

VesselsValue data shows that the car carrier is operated by South Korean shipping firm Glovis.
