希腊一集装箱船的承保人近日否认了其造成了覆盖加那利群岛达30-km的水面浮油漏油事故。

瑞典保赔协会方面称运量达2520TEU的Vitality(造于2002年)在另一艘船的帮助下,才在5月14日左右顺利离开泄油区。

泄漏的原油是由一台西班牙的巡逻机及时发现的,并在一天之内迅速溶解了原油。

Vitality则于5月29日抵达阿尔赫西拉斯港时被扣留,留待检查。

西班牙方面报道称原油是在达喀尔至敦刻尔克航行途中泄漏的。

Dioryx告知TradeWinds西班牙当局将为此支25万欧元(折合为30.8万美元),Vitality才能获许释放。

Vitality caught in spill spat

The insurer of a Greek boxship has denied the vessel was the cause of a 30-km oil slick off the Canary Islands.

The Swedish Club says the 2,520-teu Vitality (built 2002) had merely sailed through the discharge from another vessel on or around 14 May.

A Spanish patrol plane spotted the slick, which dissolved naturally within a day.

Vitality however was detained in Algeciras when it arrived on 29 May following an inspection.

It was en route from Dakar to Dunkirk and in the area of the spill at the time, Spanish reports said.

Dioryx told TradeWinds a bond of EUR 250,000 ($308,000) will be lodged with Spanish authorities on Friday and the ship would bereleased.
