South Korean-owned Samjin Shipbuilding Industries has made a move into boxships.

    The yard said a European line has ordered two 4,800-teu vessels for delivery in the middle of 2013.

    Samjin has not revealed a price, but the 251-metre ships could cost around $59.5m each.

    The shipyard, which is based in China, has been busy adding bulker orders in recent weeks, including its debut supramax deals from a Korean shipping fund and two smaller vessels from Everlast of Greece, plus two options.

    It has no containerships on its books currently.
