希腊Neda Maritime公司计划在华订造4-5条巴拿马型散货船

Yesterday I came across a Chief Far East Representative of Hellenic Neda Maritime Mr. D. W. Manning, who has been in charge of Neda’s newbuilding project in Asia (i.e. Japan China and S. Korea) for many years. We had a delightful conversation during afternoon tea time and he told me Neda Maritime is planning to put some new orders at Chinese yard, up to 5 Panamax bulk carriers to replace the company’s elder fleet.

昨天我碰巧遇到了希腊Neda Maritime的远东地区首席代表D. W. Manning先生,他负责整个亚洲地区如日本中国韩国等地的新造船项目。我们在整个下午茶时光进行了愉快的交谈,他告诉我说Neda Maritime正在计划在中国的船厂订造最多5条巴拿马型散货船来替代目前公司稍显老旧的同类船队。

Last year they had already successfully taken delivery of two 170,000 dwt capsize bulk carrier from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard, both Marshall Islands Flag. And according to Mr. Manning, when the market is down, then it is the perfect opportunity to place more orders with the lowest price. The shipyard will and has to swallow whatever terms and conditions they are offering to keep alive. Under current average shipbuilding price, shipyard can barely make any profit but just to keep the factory running.

去年Neda Maritime已经成功的从中国的上海外高桥船厂接受交付了2条马绍尔船旗的170000载重吨海岬型散货船。Manning讲到,在航运市场不好的时候,正是船东大批低价订造新船的绝佳时期。船厂在船东的各种条款邀约面前,几乎没有任何讨价还价的余地,船厂的目标只有一个:拿到订单,保持生产。按照现在的船舶平均造价来看,船厂确实无利可图,只求不要关门大吉。

He also mentioned the rapidly decreasing number of Greek seafarers, so there are fewer obligations for a Greek shipping company like Neda Maritime to fly his fleet national flag. Neda has been in contact with many open registries within the past few years, and choosing Marshall Islands is their first move. With local offices in the Far East region, Marshall Islands Registry could delivery handy help to owner’s site office.

他还提到了希腊籍船员数量的迅速锐减,因此像Neda Maritime这样的希腊航运公司为其船队选择希腊国旗的义务也就越来越少。过去几年Neda Maritime也一直与一些船舶开放注册机构保持着密切的联系,并且首先选择了马绍尔群岛船旗作为初次尝试。对于在远东各地都拥有直属办公室的马绍尔群岛注册处来说,他们可以更好的为船东当地的驻厂办公室提供及时的服务。

He has traveled to many yards throughout China recently, and commenting Cosco Dalian Shipyard and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard as the most competitive ones for a bulk carrier project. He will soon be going back to Greece and report to his head office, I will certainly follow this case up to see what will be the order, which shipyard and flag.

最近Manning先生几乎走遍了中国的各个船厂,他表示如果要选择建造散货船船项目,他会首推中远大连船厂和上海外高桥船厂。随后他就要返回希腊,并向其总部汇报此次考察的结果,我也会持续关注此事的后续进展,看看最终这个订单会花落谁家。
