运价持续走低,日本船东带头拆船

Market has confirmed the demolition of 2 capesize bulk carriers from NYK, and both vessels are said to be sent to an anonymous slice-up facility in China. The 172,900 dwt Shagang Sunrise (built 1997) and the 151,300 dwt Stellar Fortune (built 1995) were sold to Global Marketing Systems, Inc. (GMS), the world largest cash buyer of ships for recycling and only one achieved ISO9001:2000 certification, at a price of $355 per ldt. The scrapping price in Chinese yards is usually lower than the 355 USD offer of this time, but considering such young age of the vessels, it becomes quite reasonable. In a reputation of greener technology, China has been a more popular destination for ship demolition since the adoption of The Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships in 2009 by IMO. However India is leading the way with similar service but a better price.

市场人士已经确认了NYK将要拆解其2条海岬型散货船的消息,这两条船将会被送往中国的某个拆船厂。Global Marketing Systems(GMS)公司是此次NYK的1997年造172,900载重吨Shagang Sunrise轮和1995年造151,300载重吨Stellar Fortune轮拆船交易的现金买家公司。GMS公司是目前世界上最大的待拆解回收船舶的现金买家,并且是唯一一家取得了ISO 9001:2000资格体系认证的公司。此次的拆船价格据信将达到每轻吨355美金,这与中国拆船厂的通常报价要高一些。但是考虑到此次带拆解的2条船舶船龄尚属“年轻”,该高额报价也就不难理解了。由于拥有着领先的环保拆船技术,在IMO于2009年正式通过了关于安全环保回收船舶的香港公约后,中国拆船厂正越来越受拆船船东的欢迎。但是值得注意的是印度也有着同样的绿色技术,还可以提供更高的回报。

日本是世界第二大船东国,同时更是最大的海岬型散货船拥有国, 他们正引领者拆解老旧船舶的浪潮。

Before NYK, MOL in June has already revealed to put more ships of its fleet to scrapping or cold lay-up due to the dim market. According to their announcement, the number of vessels will be between 10 and 20 in a perspective to restore balance to the flattened charter rate. Last year only, MOL had recycled 4 capesize bulk carriers and placed 10 into warm lay-up status.

在NYK这次拆船之前,MOL在今年6月已经表示由于市场低迷,公司将会拆解和长期搁置更多的船舶。根据他们的声明,这些船舶的数量将会介于10条到20条之间。MOL希望能藉此来给市场运费带来一些光明。仅去年一年,MOL就已经拆解掉了船队中的4条海岬型散货船,并短期搁置了10条。

The trend of demolition of course will give a relief to desperate owners, but to what extent is still a question since newbuildings keep jumping in.(by paris zhang)
