Distance between the seasonal load lines.

1. the distances between the centre of the disc and the deck line is prescribed by the assigning authority and depends on several factors including the ship’s dimensions, structure, water tightness arrangements, type of cargo to be carried etc. the draft at the S line is the summer load draft.

2.The distance between W and S, between T and S and between F and TF is the same and is equal to 1/48th of summer load draft.

3.The distance between S and F is equal to the distance between T and TF and is the fresh water allowances for that ship.

Reading load line marks

• The ring, lines and letters be painted in the white or yellow on a dark background, or in black on a light background.
• They should be permanently marked on both sides.
• The marks should be plainly visible.
• All readings are taken from the top of the relevant load line mark.
